Call or email rightofwaymaintenance@chicoca.gov to report downed trees or other hazards blocking the road, sewer or storm line backups and severe flooding. To report immediate infrastructure needs after 5pm call the Chico Police Department at 530-897-4900.

Fire Station 41: 13871 Highway 99, Chico
Residents will need to bring their own shovel. Limit of ten bags per vehicle.
Fire Station 64: 22 Walnut Ave, Oroville
Residents will need to bring their own shovel and bag to fill. Limit of 10 bags per vehicle.
Fire Station 72: 2290 Palermo Rd, Palermo
Residents will need to bring their own shovel. Limit of ten bags per vehicle.
Chico Municipal Services Center: 901 Fir Street, Chico
Sand and bags are available while supplies last. Residents will need to bring their own shovel.
Hewitt Park: 2102 Baldwin Ave, Oroville
Residents should bring their own shovel.
Hammon Park: 105 Hammon Park Dr. Oroville
Residents should bring their own shovel.
Town of Paradise: Empty sandbags are available for pick up during the Building Resiliency Center and Town Hall regular hours of operation. The sand pile is accessible 24/7 at the corner of Sierra Park Drive and Pearson Road. Residents will need to bring their own sandbags

Emergency Financial Assistance
American Red Cross
If you were recently impacted by the February 2025 Storm, call 530-407-4351 to schedule an appointment to receive recovery assistance. Appointments are available February 11-20, 2025.
American Red Cross can provide immediate funds to individuals and families whose homes have been damaged or destroyed due to winter weather conditions such as fallen tree limbs or flooding. Financial assistance is only provided once. It is intended to help provide immediate support and is not long term assistance. Amount granted is based on household size and severity of damages to the home.

Flood Terms & Definitions
- Flood Watch – Be Prepared: A Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding, it does not mean flooding will occur, but it is possible.
- Flood Advisory – Be Aware: A Flood Advisory is issued when flooding is not expected to be bad enough to issue a warning, but may cause significant inconvenience, and if caution is not exercised, may lead to situations that may threaten life or property.
- Flood Warning – Take Action: A Flood Warning is issued when flooding is imminent or occurring.
- Flash Flood Watch – Take Action: A Flash Flood Watch is issued when life-threatening conditions are expected to develop.
- Flash Flood Warning – Extreme Danger: A Flash Flood Warning is issued when life-threatening conditions are imminent or occurring. If you are in a flood prone area (such as downslope of a burn scar) move immediately to high ground. It is possible to experience a Flash Flood in areas not immediately receiving rain.
