BOTH SMALL AND LARGE ANIMAL SHELTERS ARE CLOSED. Animals remaining at the Emergency Shelter have been relocated to Northwest SPCA or to Butte Humane Society. If you have not picked your animals up from the emergency shelter, please contact Northwest SPCA or Butte Humane Society for pickup.

24 Pet Connect – Re-unification of owners with pets that were in evacuation animal shelters
A website continues to help reunite lost pets with their owners afer the evacuation animal shelters have closed.
Visit https://24petconnect.com/event/parkfire to see a photo of the lost pets currently waiting to be reunited.
If you see your pet on the website, please go to the animal shelter listed during operating hours.
Please bring enough information to establish proof of ownership. Proof of ownership could include photos, a detailed description, and last known location. The lost pets website will be updated with any new lost pets as they come to the shelter.

Free Microchipping for Pets
Mon-Fri: 8am-4pm
Offering free microchipping to Butte County residents’ pets. Walk-ins welcome or call to schedule an appointment. Please bring ID with Butte County address. Microchipping will be available as long as funding is still available. Limit 2 chips per household.
Friends United in Rescue, Inc (FUR)
Providing assistance to Park Fire survivors in Butte County by providing feed stations, which have cameras attached to them, and trapping their cats. They also spay/neuter the animals for a low cost and microchip these cats for free. Owners provide a photo and description of their cat(s) so that FUR knows which cat(s) to trap.
In terms of dogs, if they see a dog on camera on a regular basis, they will trap the dog, post a photo of it on their website, and then get in contact with Northwest SPCA to house the dog until the owner can be found.

Center for Animal Protection and Education
Provides an application process for fire survivors and survivors of other disasters for funding assistance for their animals who have been injured and/or displaced. This includes wildlife animals also. The Wildlife Animal Assistance Fund can provide assistance for the following needs: vet care, pet food or feed, basic animal supplies and housing.

Applications for assistance will be reviewed and funding decisions will be made and prioritized on a case by case basis. A brief interview would be held sometime after the application is received.
