City staff will be working round the clock to remedy emergency drainage issues to the extent possible. If property is at risk of flooding, you can call the Madera Police Department Non-Emergency line at 559-675-4220 and we will pass along your information to City staff.

Financial Assistance

Community Action Partnership of Madera County is offering assistance with firewood, propane or PG&E. Residents of Eastern Madera County may be eligible to receive assistance.

  • One time credit maximums: up to $3,000 for PG&E OR up to $1,000 for wood or propane;
    • Eligibility requirements: *Completed and signed application, Copy of identification, Proof of household income, PG&E bill, propane delivery tag, or firewood receipt, participants must be income eligible; call to apply: 559-673-9173 

Vital Records Fee Waiver:  Fees for certified copies of birth, death, and marriage records have been suspended for any individual who lost such records as a result of recent winter storm activity. More information: https://www.maderacounty.com/Home/Components/News/News/123/

Information for City of Madera:

  • Sandbags, free of charge, may be picked up at the City’s Public Works yard located 1030 South Gateway Drive. Sand is available on the east side of the lot at E St. and 14th St, across the railroad tracks from the Public Works yard.
